Billy Roberts

SHELBY- Leroy "Billy" Roberts II, 69, of 1803 Stoney Point Road, Shelby, departed this life on Wednesday, April 16, 2014, at University of North Carolina Hospital, in Chapel Hill. He was born on Jan. 12, 1945, in Cleveland County to the late Leroy Roberts and Annie Mae Cline Roberts.
Billy, as he was affectionately known by many, was a member of Washington Missionary Baptist Church. When he was able, he enjoyed playing basketball and listening to gospel and quartet music.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, David J. Williams.
Left to cherish his memory are; his sister, Betty Williams of the home; a niece, Selena F. Williams of New York City; a nephew, Toddrecus L. Williams of the home; close friend, Haywood Mackie, Jr. of Kings Mountain; and a host of cousins and friends.
Visitation: The family with receive friends from 12:30 – 1 p.m. at the church on Tuesday and at other times at the home.
Funeral services: Will be held on Tuesday, April 22, 2014, at 1 p.m. at Washington Missionary Baptist Church.
