Dennis Roy Peace

SHELBY-Dennis Roy Peace, 65, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 2, 2013, peacefully at home.
A native of Rutherford County, he was the son of the late Isom James and Ellen Blanton Peace. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Isom Jerry Peace Jr. and Steven Wayne Peace.
Dennis served in the Navy during the Vietnam Conflict for three years. He was a disabled veteran. He was of the Baptist faith-he loved the Lord.
Mr. Peace is survived by three sisters, Nancy Brewer and husband Jack of Shelby, Diane Burleyson of Shelby, and Suzanne Crawley of Vale; three brothers, John Peace of Gastonia, Robert Peace of Ware Shoals, S.C., and Terry Peace of Waynesville; a very special niece and caregiver, Lisa R. Lowery; many other nieces; a great-nephew; a very special great-niece, Aubrey Scott; and a special great-nephew, Hunter Scott whom he worshiped.
Visitation: The family will receive friends from 10 to 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home prior to the service.
Celebration of Life Service: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Chapel of Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home and Crematory
Officiated By: The Rev. Rodney Navey and the Rev. Keith Navey
Burial: 1 p.m. following the service, in Salisbury National Cemetery
