Dollie Tate

SHELBY- Delores "Dollie" Poston Tate, 84, died Friday, Dec. 20, 2013, at Hospice Wendover.
Born in Cleveland County, she was the daughter of the late Paul Grady and Margaret Lee Hord Poston. Delores was a member of First Baptist Church and worked for the American Red Cross as an accountant.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Sherwood Tate; and five brothers, Curtis Poston, Pinkney Poston, Jack Poston, Everette Poston and Lee Poston.
Delores is survived by a son, Clif Tate of Orlando, Fla.; a daughter, Suzanne Kauffman and husband Brian of Boulder, Colo.; two sisters, Bonnie Putnam and husband Bill of Shelby, and Dorothy Hutchins of Forest City; two brothers, John Poston and wife Joy of Belmont, and Paul Poston of Rock Hill, S.C.; and three grandchildren, Ashton Tate, Sherwood Bronson Tate and Anna Kauffman.
Funeral services will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. in the Webb Chapel of First Baptist Church with the Rev. Tony Tench officiating.
The family will receive friends an hour before the service from 10 to 11 a.m. in the Ladies Parlor.
Burial will be in Sunset Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to First Baptist Church, 120 N. Lafayette St., Shelby 28150; the American Red Cross, 1333 Fallston Rd., Shelby, NC 28150; or Hospice Cleveland County, 951 Wendover Heights Dr., Shelby, NC 28150.
