Joseph "Joe" Woodard

LAWNDALE- Joseph "Joe" Garrell Woodard, 70, of Lawndale, passed away on Sunday, May 5, 2013.
Born in Macon County, he was the son of the late William Robert Woodard and Nina B. Brooks Woodard Peek.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Shirley Guyer; and a brother, Jackson Earl Woodard.
He was a retired superintendent in road construction, attended Carpenter Grove Baptist Church in Lawndale, was a member of the Moose Lodge, and loved to fish.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy Stewart Woodard; three children, Joseph Garrell Woodard Jr. of Montana, Steven G. Wilson of California, and Richard G. Woodard of Charlotte; step-daughter, Tonka and Jody Posey of Candler; two brothers, William Hoyt Woodard and wife Garnetta of Candler, and Edward Cleveland Woodard of Bryson City; one grandson, Dylan Posey; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation: The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Macon Funeral Home.
Funeral Service: 3 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of Macon Funeral Home
