Larry Montgomery

LAWNDALE- Larry Wayne Montgomery, 67, of 408 St. Paul Church Rd., Lawndale passed away on Feb. 21, 2014, at Mountain View Manor, Bryson City.
Born April 9, 1946, in Gaston County, he was a son the late Floyd Montgomery and Ella Mae Blalock Weaver. He was a member of the Lincolnton VFW and served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Louise Byers.
Survivors include his wife, Louise Brackett Montgomery; daughter, Angela Berry of Kings Mountain; step-son, Eugene Brotherton of Lawndale; three step-daughters, Donna Rhoney of Connelly Springs, Betty Austin of Lawndale, and Polly Kanai of Shelby; three brothers, Jim Montgomery of Shelby, Sonny Montgomery of Polkville, and Guy Bell of High Point; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 6:30 p.m. on Sunday at Stamey Funeral Home in Fallston.
The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday at Stamey Funeral Home Chapel, Fallston, and will be officiated by the Rev. Robert Goins and the Rev. Norris Willis.
Burial will follow in Rose Hill Memorial Park, Fallston.
