Leavy Ann (Johnson) Scruggs

CLIFFSIDE-Leavy Ann Johnson Scruggs, 100, of Cliffside Street, Cliffside, died on Friday, Nov. 30, 2012, at her residence. A native of Cherokee County, S.C., she was born on Dec. 11, 1911, a daughter of the late Jackson David and Edna Henderson Johnson. She retired from Cone Mills Corporation-Cliffside Plant. She was a member of Cliffside Baptist Church, and she loved to cook and quilt.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Thurman Scruggs; and one son, David Scruggs.
She is survived by her son, Dean Scruggs and wife Becky of Seneca; one daughter, Joann Mitchell of Cliffside; seven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation: The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. in the sanctuary at Cliffside Baptist Church.
Funeral Service: 2 p.m. Wednesday at Cliffside Baptist Church
Officiated By: The Rev. Joey Cantrell
Burial: Cliffside Cemetery, following the service
