SHELBY-Mrs. Louise "Sis" Brackett, 83, of Shelby, passed away on Nov. 29, 2012, at White Oak Manor of Shelby. A native of Cleveland County, she was the daughter of the late Clarence Alexander Newton and Mary Willie Sanders Newton.
Mrs. Brackett previously worked at Belmont Mill and Ora Mill and was a member of the Baptist faith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Fay Edgar Brackett; a grandson, Gary Cooper; a great grandson, Christopher Cooper; brothers, Ronnie, Charles, Tommy and J. C. Newton; and sisters, Gail Wilson, Grace Adams, Faye Brackett and Martha Raye Morrow.
She is survived by her son, Keith Brackett and wife Linda of Shelby; daughter, Linda Rivers of Kings Mountain; two brothers, Steve Newton and Ricky Newton of Shelby; sisters, Muriel Bridges of Shelby, Brenda Pruett of Casar & Shirley Brady of Casar; grandchildren, Jeremy Brackett and (Jennifer), Robert Cooper and (Martha), Tracy Lanier and (Paul), Donnie Cooper and (Carrie); Chrissy Lanier and Don Smith, Paula Creighton, Gina Short (Monk); great grandchildren, Randy Cooper, Stephanie Champion, Anthony Pruitt, Brad Cooper, Justin Cooper, Kaelyn Brackett, Kenan Brackett, Gerald, Courtney and Morgan Lanier, Austin, Alyssa, J.P and Alex Creighton, Alexis, MJ Short; great-great grandchildren, Madison, Mariah and Bryson Cooper, Sydney, Laney and Bryson champion, Mason and Bailey Pruitt and Braxton Cooper; and numerous loving nieces and nephews.
Her family wishes to extend a special thank you to her "family" at White Oak Manor for the love and care they provided during her stay.
Visitation: The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday in the sanctuary of Putnam Baptist Church, and other times at the home of her son, Keith Brackett, 2915 Poplar Circle, Shelby.
Funeral Service: 2 p.m. Saturday at Putnam Baptist Church, following the visitation
