Margaret Tallent

LAWNDALE- Margaret Ethel Yancey Tallent, 80, of 1246 Belwood-Lawndale Rd. in Lawndale, passed away Friday, June 27, 2014, at White Oak Manor in Shelby.

Born November 3, 1933, in Lincoln County, she was a daughter of the late Joseph Clarence Yancey and Sara Pearl Grigg Yancey. She was retired from Drexel Heritage Furniture Plant Five in Morganton and was a member of Olive Grove Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Junior Tallent; sister, Dona Walker; five half brothers; and four half sisters.

Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, John (Doc) Tallent and Linda Morris Tallent of Shelby; two grandchildren, James Edwin Tallent and Holly Tallent; one great grandson, Hunter Tallent; two brothers, J.C. Yancey of Morganton and Gene Ritchie of Conover; one sister, Helen Walker of Casar; and one half sister.

Visitation: The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to 11a.m., Monday, June 30, 2014, at Stamey Funeral Home.
