Onnie Carver

FOREST CITY - Onnie Hardin Carver, 91, of Long Branch Road, and former longtime resident of Charles Street, Forest City, died Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2013, at her residence. She was born Oct. 3, 1922, in Cleveland County, and was a daughter of the late Horace Lee and Melissa Alviney Burgin Hardin.
Onnie graduated from Cool Springs High School with honors, was a longtime member of Missionary Wesleyan Church, Forest City, was a proud grade mother when both of her children were in school and formerly worked with her late husband in the V.F.W. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Carver; and brothers and sisters.
Survivors include her two children, Randy Carver and fiancée Gail Bailey of Shelby, and Debbie Carver Jones and husband Jeff of Forest City; five grandchildren, Justin Carver, Randi-Morgan Carver, Skylar Carver, Joshua Jones and Breann Walker; and four great-grandchildren, Alexander Jones, Isabella Jones, Madeleine Jones and Alexis Walker.
The family will hold a private service in The Padgett and King Chapel officiated by the Rev. Chris Fox.
Interment will be private in the Cool Springs Cemetery.
