Pearlie Corry

SHELBY - Pearlie Mae Corry, 75, of 6 Lamar Street, peacefully departed this life on Monday, May 26, 2014, at her residence. She was born on Nov. 23, 1938, in Cherokee County, S.C., and was the eldest child of the late A.V Corry Sr. and Susie Dawkins Corry.
Pearlie was a 1959 graduate of Camp High School and was a member of First Baptist Church in Earl. She was employed with Fiber Industries for 19 years and P.P.G. Industries, where she retired from, for over 15 years.
Pearlie was a very loving and humble person who enjoyed helping others. Some of her favorite pastimes and interests included shopping, which she especially loved doing, listening to gospel music, growing flowers, snapping pictures of others and collecting figurines.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Joe Corry.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, one daughter, Virginia Corry of the home; five brothers, A.V. Corry, Jr., Lee Corry and Mack Corry (Joyce), all of Shelby, Randy Corry of Canton, Mich., and Danny Corry of Shelby; two sisters, Susie Dowdle of Earl and Ann McKissick (Dennis) of Shelby; a sister-in-law, Rose Corry of Shelby; one aunt, Viola Burris of Gaffney, S.C.; one uncle, Melrose Corry of Baltimore, Md.; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation: The family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to the service at the church, and at other times at 4 Lamar Street in Shelby.
Funeral service: 12:30 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church in Earl
Officiated by: Pastor Randy Thurman
Burial: Will take place at the church cemetery.
