GROVER-Raymond Belmont Bland Jr., 70, died Monday, Jan. 28, 2013, at Cleveland Regional Medical Center.
Born in Norfolk, Va., on Nov. 12, 1942, he was the son of the late Raymond Belmont and Margaret Meginley Bland. He was a member of Christ the King Church and played the guitar beautifully. He had a humorous personality and could easily make a joke. He worked for Spangler's as a TV repair technician. He enjoyed working with wood and building cabinets and shelves.
Mr. Bland is survived by his wife of 12 years, Ann Bland; four children, Jimmy and Kay Hambright, and Tony Hambright, all of Blacksburg, S.C., Janet Guyton and husband Tony of Gaffney, S.C., and Terri Horton and husband Bobo of Grover; two sisters, Fay Bonney of Shelby, and Vivian Helms and husband Charles of Cherryville; grandchildren, Britney Kayla and Casey Horton, Kaylee and Adam Hambright, Brandi Bradley and Dylan Owens; great-grandchildren, Alea Mullinax, Jaden Hammett, Boone Gabbard and Alivia Owens; his best friend "Coco"; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation: The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. prior to the service.
Memorial Service: 7 p.m. Wednesday at Christ the King Church
