Ray Chapman

CASAR- Ray Chapman, 66, of Casar, went on to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on May 16, 2013, at his home.
Born in Cleveland County, he was a son of Eugene Chapman. He was a self-employed electrician and went on to work at Azdale. He was an attending member at Zoar Baptist Church in Casar and enjoyed riding his motorcycle. He loved animals, but most of all loved spending time with his grandchildren. He also served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Conflict.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his brother, Michael Chapman.
He is survived by his son, Robert "Bobby" Chapman of Shelby; daughter-in-law, Leslie Chapman; his former wife and mother of his son, Betty Scott of Shelby. He was also survived by his beloved grandchildren, Keaton "Little Dude" Chapman, Allie "Little Lady" Chapman, and LeAnna "Friend" Nettles; his brother, Tommy Chapman and his wife Betsy of Belton, S.C.; sister-in-law, Gail Chapman of Casar; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation: The family will receive friends from 11 to 12 p.m. Saturday at Stamey Funeral Home, Fallston.
