Ray Francis

SHELBY- Robert "Ray" Francis, 84, of Carolyn Dr., died Sun., Nov. 17, 2013 at his home. A native of Mecklenburg County, he was the son of the late Max Clayton Frances Sr. and Minnie Lee Crowder Francis. He was a member of Central U.M.C. and retired from Southern Bell after 33 years of service.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Max Clayton Francis Jr.; and great-grandson, Kameron Paul Ater.
He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Iris Falls Francis of the home; two sons, Steve Francis of Scottsdale, AZ, and Paul Francis and wife Johnanna of Shelby; daughter, Helen Moore and husband Greg of Monroe; sister Nancy Moore and husband Gregg of Monroe; six grandchildren, Misti Arter, Stephanie Francis, Bradley Ray Francis, Brian Morris, Daniel Morris, Madeline Francis; and two great-grandchildren, Kaleb Arter, Kaley Arter, and Nova Rae Francis.
Visitation: The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home, and other times at his home.
Funeral service: 11 a.m. Wednesday at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home Chapel
