Ray Russ

SHELBY - Ray Russ, 75, died Wednesday, June 25, 2014, at Cleveland Regional Medical Center. Born in Cleveland County on Feb. 16, 1939, he was the son of the late John Bingham and Madge Olivia Greene Russ. Ray was a member of Flint Hill Baptist Church. He drove for Universal Manufacturing for a number of years. Ray was a very proud American and enjoyed spending time with his family.
In addition to his parents, Ray is preceded in death by his wife Patsy Russ; a brother, Drayton Russ; and a sister, Inez Cooper.
Ray is survived by two sons, Scotty Russ and wife Brenna of Lawndale, and Chris Russ and wife Leah of Shelby; a sister, Rebecca Bridges of Ellenboro; a brother, Kenneth Russ and wife Shirley of Boiling Springs; three grandchildren, Christian Russ, Amber Pearce and husband Eric, and John Warren, Jr.; and two great-grandsons, Conner Ray Pearce and Caden Pearce.
Visitation: The family will receive friends one hour before the service and other times at the home.
Celebration of life service: 11 a.m. Saturday in the Chapel of Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home and Crematory

Burial: Will follow in Cleveland Memorial Park.
