SHELBY - Mr. Richard Emanuel "Littleman" Bennett, 64, born on July 18, 1944, of 106 Lily St., was called home Sunday, Sept. 28, 2008.
Richard was a retired textile worker of Pacolet Mills, S.C. He attended Proclaiming the Word Ministries in Grover. He was the son of the late Joseph and Ella Mae Bennett.
He is survived by one son, Timothy Leon Bennett of South Carolina; one brother, the Rev. William Douglas Bennett and wife, Jean, of Shelby; one sister, Catherine Bennett Parks and fiancé, John Rohrer, of Grover; one nephew, Claude Henderson; six nieces, Karen Hoyle, Lynn Smith, Joanne Wyle, Kathy Crocker, Pat Courtney and Ella Jo Bennett; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
He had several close friends, Paula and Pat Morrison and Mr. Suggs, all of Shelby.
Mr. Bennett was preceded in death by four sisters, Emma Jean Bennett Powers, Betty Jo Bennett, Bobbie Marie Bennett and Carolyn Bennett.
Visitation: The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 30, at the home of the Rev. and Mrs. William Douglas Bennett, 1812 S. Lafayette St., Shelby.
Graveside Service: 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 1, at Pacolet United Methodist Church Cemetery in Pacolet, S.C.
