Sarah Lois Melton Smith

Sarah Lois Melton Smith, 88, of 3426 W. Stagecoach Trail, Shelby, died Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2013 at her residence.

Born October 8, 1924 in Cleveland County she was a daughter of the late Charlie Crawford Melton and Oveda Glenn Melton. She was retired from PPG and was a member at Polkville Baptist Church. Mrs. Smith sold Avon for many years.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in the death by her husband, Clarence "Coffee" Smith; and two brothers, Everett Melton and Gene Melton.

Survivors include a nephew, Ronald Melton of Polkville; niece, Debbie Rippy of Shelby; great-niece Jennifer Wayne and husband, Robby, of Iron Station; great-nephew, Chad Smith of Shelby; great-great nieces and nephew, Tyler Potter, Sara, Drew and Charlie Wayne; sister-in-law, Dede Melton of Shelby; and Molly the cat.

Visitation: Friday from 1 to 2 p.m. at Sandy Plains Baptist Church, Shelby

Funeral Service: Friday, 2 p.m., at Sandy Plains Baptist Church, Shelby

Officiating: Rev. Garin Hill

Burial: Sandy Plains Baptist Church Cemetery
