Teresa Carr Phillips

CHARLOTTE-Ms. Teresa Carr Phillips, 68, of Charlotte, passed away Jan. 18, 2013, at Carolinas Medical Center-Main.
Born in Shelby, Teresa was the daughter of the late George Wesley and Rosa Lee Carr.
A Charlotte resident for the past 25 years, Teresa was a people-person, who enjoyed life and whose smile will be missed by all who knew her, including her customers from her last job at SunTrust Bank.
Her joy in life was expressed through a special love of gardening, growing bright masses of flowers along with watermelon and tomatoes that she enjoyed sharing and eating. Ms. Phillips was an active member of the Tyvola Senior Center, where she enjoyed the camaraderie developed with friends during exercise classes and parties. For the past 15 years, Teresa ran a pet sitting business that, due to her deep affection for animals including her two beloved companion cats, was her most enjoyed occupation.
Surviving Ms. Phillips is her sister, Tamara Dean; and brother-in-law, John of McDonough, Ga.
Celebration of Life Service: 2 p.m. Friday at the Tyvola Senior Citizens Center, 2225 Tyvola Road, Charlotte.
