Thelma Wood

SHELBY-Thelma Louise Ledbetter Wood, 92, of North Post Road, Shelby, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2012, at White Oak Manor in Shelby.
Mrs. Wood was born in Cleveland County on Mar. 25, 1920, to the late Jason Ledbetter and Mildred Hallman Ledbetter. She was retired from Dover Textiles and was a member of Wallace Grove Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar Lee Wood; seven brothers and two sisters.
She is survived by one son, Robert Wood and wife Gail of Shelby; two daughters, Betty Scism of Shelby, and Peggy Howell and husband Roger of Cherryville; sister-in-law, Essie Proctor of Cherryville; seven grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation: The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Sunday at Stamey Funeral Home in Fallston.
