Virginia Byers

KINGS MOUNTAIN – Virginia Patterson Byers, wife of the late Mr. Warren G. Byers, of 132 Dixon School Road, died in the White Oak Manor of Shelby on Sunday, Jan. 12, 2014, after a long illness.
A native of Cleveland County, she was the daughter of the late Mr. Jasper W. and Mrs. Beatrice Robinson Patterson.
Mrs. Byers was a faithful member of the Mount Olive Baptist Church, Ada Chapter #7 of the Order of the Eastern Star and the NAACP.
She retired from the Kings Mountain school system after many years of service.
Survivors are four daughters, Mrs. Ernestine B. (Robert) Pace of San Angelo, Texas, Mrs. Georgia B. (Earl) Alexander of Moore, S.C., and Mrs. Wanda B. Allen and Mrs. Judy B. Ross, both of Charlotte; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Katherine P. Davis of Spartanburg, and Mrs. Hester P. Stevens of Gastonia; and two brothers, Mr. Alphonso Patterson of Baltimore, Md., and Mr. Robert (Ruth) Patterson of Kings Mountain.
Visitation: The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. The body will be placed in the church at 10 a.m.
Funeral service: 1 p.m. Friday at The Mount Olive Baptist Church, Kings Mountain
