William Pinkney "Bill" Anthony

SHELBY- William "Bill" Pinkney Anthony, 76, passed away on January 21, 2012 at Cleveland Regional Medical Center. A native of Cleveland County he was the son of the late Arthur P. Anthony and Katie N. Neal. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Marjorie Anthony Gates; brothers, Tony Reid Anthony and Bobby Neal Anthony.
Mr. Anthony graduated from Bethware High School in 1953. He served his country in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Korea from 1957 to 1959. He was retired from PPG and TACC. Mr. Anthony was a member of Crestview Baptist Church where he was a member of the Prodigal Sons Sunday school class.
Mr. Anthony is survived by his wife of sixteen years, Shirley K. Anthony; son, Neal Anthony and wife; step-daughter, Benita Duffie and husband, Chuck; grandson, Ben Duffie; and sister Cornelia Anthony Eaker and husband Jack.
Visitation: The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday at Cecil M Burton Funeral Home and Crematory. At other times the family will be at the home.
Celebration of life service: Wednesday, 2 p.m. at Crestview Baptist Church

Burial: Cleveland Memorial Park
