SHELBY- Bobby Gene Ledford, 78, of Shelby, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2013, at Hospice of Cleveland County at Wendover. A native of Cleveland County, he is the son of the late Thurman B. Ledford and Bertha Waters Ledford. Mr. Ledford loved to fly and work with his hands. He was a great taxidermist and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. He worked for the Department of Transportation as a prison guard until his retirement. He was a member of Lily Baptist Church and a member of Cleveland Masonic Lodge #202.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Dennis Ledford and Willie Dean Ledford; one sister, Shirley Hale.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Louise H. Ledford of the home; one son, Keith Ledford and wife Brigitte of Shelby; one sister, Elizabeth Lovelace of Shelby; two brothers, Dwight Ledford of Shelby and James Ledford of Georgia.
Visitation: The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday at Cleveland Funeral Services.
