SHELBY-Freddie Lee Farmer Sr., 58, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, Sept. 10, 2011.
He lived at 1019 Silver St., and was formerly of Gastonia.
He was born July 7, 1953, in Lee County, S.C. Freddie was the son of the late Robert and Ruby Farmer.
He was a member of Faith Hope and Love Mission Church. He loved gospel music, played the lead guitar and was leader of the Farmer Family Gospel Singers. Freddie was a retired carpenter.
He is survived by his loving sisters, Lola Mae Farmer, Diane Farmer Oglesby both of Shelby; his loving brothers, Robert Lee Farmer Jr., W.T. and Bobby Farmer, all of Shelby, Ernest Farmer of Morganton; auntie/sister, Valentine Harlee of Charlotte; aunt, Edith McCray of Falls Church, VA; son, Freddie Lee Farmer Jr. of Chesapeake, VA; daughter, Cassandra Yvette Farmer of Gastonia; grandchildren, Alexis, Alyssa, Asia and Freddie Lee Farmer III all of Chesapeake, VA, Sheila and Sidney Smith of Gastonia.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sheila Elaine Farmer; grandmother, Eliza D. Farmer and sister, Mary A. Farmer.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Hospice of Cleveland County and to friends and family for all of their support.
Visitation: The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church
Funeral Service: 2 p.m. Friday at Faith Hope and Love Mission Church
