MOUNT HOLLY- Robert Eli Childers, 83, of 1741 Old Hickory Grove Road, died on Tuesday, April 23, 2013.
He was born in Jackson County, Ga., son of the late Robert and Emma Mozell Childers. He was husband of the late Eunice Mullinax Childers and was preceded in death by a sister, Shirley Stone; and two brothers, James and Bud Childers.
He was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of the American Legion.
He is survived by two sons, James Emory Childers and wife Cindy of Franklin, and Robert B. Childers and wife Phonzie of Dallas; one daughter, Debbie J. Childers of Mount Holly; three sisters, Helen Hulet of Winder, Ga., Betty Rutledge and Evelyn Gilreath, both of Bethlehem, Ga.; two brothers, Dan and Gene Childers both of Winder, Ga.; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and his special friend and companion, Ruth Childrez.
Visitation: The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Celebration of Life Service: 2 p.m. Saturday at the Woodlawn Chapel of Woodlawn Funeral Home.
Officiated By: The Rev. Caroll Flack
Burial: Hillcrest Gardens Cemetery, after the service
