SHELBY - Ann Blanton Humphries, 79, of Shelby, died on Sunday, Dec. 8, 2013, at Wendover Hospice House. A native of Cleveland County, she is the daughter of the late Bobby Rudasill and Nina Cabaniss Rudasill.
Mrs. Humphries was a former active member and Sunday school teacher at Lafayette Street United Methodist Church, where she mentored numerous children. She was a current member at Zoar Baptist Church. She had worked and later retired from James Love Elementary School after 20 years of service as a teacher's assistant. Mrs. Humphries was loved by her many friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Gene B. Blanton; grandchild, Max Blanton; and baby brother, Michael Rudasill.
She is survived by her husband of eight years, Clyde E. Humphries, Sr., of the home; two sons, Reuben Blanton of Shelby and Byron R. Blanton of Greenville, S.C.; daughter, Nina Lynn Repeta and husband Michael of Wilmington; three grandchildren, Jessica Blanton, Sam Blanton, and Banks Repeta; sister, Ora Trivett of Shelby; brother, Robert Rudasill of Humble, Texas; and Clyde's children, Eddie and Teresa Humphries and their children, Christopher, Andrew, and Amanda, and Ronnie and Mindy Humphries and their children, Mallory and Natalie.
Visitation: The family will receive friends from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at Cleveland Funeral Services.
Funeral Service: 11 a.m. Wednesday at Zoar Baptist Church

Burial: Cleveland Memorial Park
