ANNIE MAE EAKER
CHERRYVILLE- Annie Mae Thomas Eaker, 99, of Cherryville, passed away after a brief illness on Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2014, at Peak Resources in Cherryville.
Born Oct. 10, 1915, in Gaston County, she was the daughter of the late James Adam Thomas and Mary Magdeline Lester Thomas. She was a homemaker and a member of Plainsview Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Pinkney Eaker; two grandchildren, Chuck Porter and Donna Reeves Bolduc; three brothers and five sisters.
Survivors include one son, Earl Pinkney Eaker, Jr. and wife, Martha of Waco, five daughters, Juanita Porter of Cherryville, Virginia Williams and husband, C.M. of Shelby, Carolyn Brittain and husband, Allen of Cherryville, Kay Rochester of Cherryville, Gail Sparks and husband, Bobby Roger of Gastonia;two sisters, Dorothy Roberson of Lincolnton and Frankie Barkley of Shelby; twelve grandchildren, thirty-one great grandchildren, and eighteen great great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 18, 2014, at Stamey Tysinger Funeral Home & Cremation Center Chapel.
Funeral Service will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, at Plainsview Baptist Church with Dr. Ernest, Speagle and Rev. Jerry Lail officiating.
The body will be placed in the church thirty minutes before the service.
Burial will follow at City Memorial Cemetery in Cherryville.
Memorials may be made to Plainsview Baptist Church, 266 Plainsview Baptist Church Lawndale, NC 28090.
