KINGS MOUNTAIN - Annie Ruth Wilson, 79, of 936 Stoney Point Road, departed this life on Friday, April 4, 2014, at her residence. She was born on Nov. 18, 1934, in Cleveland County, to the late Phillip, Sr. and Lenora Brown Wilson.
Mrs. Wilson was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church, where she faithfully attended Sunday school until her health declined. She was a 1953 graduate from Camp High School and continued her studies by attending Fayetteville State Teacher's College in Fayetteville.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her five brothers, Phillip Wilson, Jr., Thomas C. Wilson, Martin A. Wilson, Eugene Wilson and Fred Wilson; and three sisters, Sarah W. Camp, Ida M. Ramseur and Mary Pagan.
She leaves to cherish fond memories, her husband of over 56 years, Larry C. Wilson, Sr.; one son, Larry C. Wilson, II of Fayetteville; a step-son, Gregory Hartgrove of Shelby; one brother, John Wilson (Odelia) of Chicago, Ill.; two sisters, Wilma Halsey (Hardy) and Beatrice Huddleston, both of Shelby; six grandchildren, Jerrod Surratt of Shelby, Dustin Wilson of Fayetteville, Amber Kendrick of Gastonia, and Collin Wilson, Trenton Wilson and Mariah Wilson, all of Fayetteville; three great-grandchildren, Aniyah Henson of Fayetteville and Camron Hartgrove and Jumyira Taylor, both of Shelby; two sisters-in-law, Emma Wilson of Buffalo, N.Y., and Bernell Wilson of Shelby; three special friends, Lena Borders, Mary Jane Woods and Rachel Sellers; special family friends, John Haynes, Gerald Byers and Mark Wright; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation: The family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to the service at the church, and at other times at the home.
Funeral service: 1 p.m. Saturday at Shiloh Baptist Church
Officiated by: Pastor Danté Murphy
Burial: Will take place at Sunset Cemetery
