CHARLOTTE- Archie James Kisner, 92, passed away Friday, Oct. 25, 2013, at his home in Charlotte.

Born Sept. 27, 1921, in Longmont, Colo., to James A. and Addie Henry Kisner, he was the last survivor of 10 children.
He served his country during World War II in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Charles Ausburne and then began a career in the retail jewelry business.
Archie was a member of Christ Presbyterian Church where he served as an elder and was a part of the men of the church, as well as volunteering with the church's scouting program starting the Explorer Scouting program when the church was Camp Greene Presbyterian. He also was one of the founders of the Ashley Park Little League and a member of the Charlotte Rose Society.
His family includes Fern Yelton Kisner, his wife of 67 years; two sons, James Kisner and his wife Brenda, and Steven Kisner and his wife Christy, and his daughter, Susan Kisner Allen; as well as seven grandchildren, Kyle Kisner and wife Jennifer, Jennifer Kisner Militello and husband Christiaan, Stephanie Kisner Street and husband Eddie, Kristopher Kisner, Kevin Kisner and wife Brittany, Justin Allen and wife Janae, and Garrett Allen; nine great grandchildren; and many devoted nieces and nephews.
Visitation: The family will receive friends at the church following the service.
Celebration of Life Service: 2 p.m. Sunday at Christ Presbyterian Church

Burial: Private interment will be in Forest Lawn West Cemetery.
