THEODORE, ALA. - Barry Nelson Bridges, 69, resident of Theodore, Ala., formerly of Kings Mountain, passed away March 3, 2014, at the Nashville Veterans Medical Center, Nashville, Tenn. He was born in Cleveland County to the late Frank Hood Bridges and Ivor Faye Wright Bridges.

Mr. Bridges served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam Era and was a retired fisherman. He enjoyed fishing and loved his nieces and nephews.
He is survived by his brother, Bruce Keith Bridges and wife Linda of Clover, S.C.; sister, Brenda Kay Bridges Gilliland and husband Andrew Dale Gilliland of Kings Mountain; step-mother, Dorothy Bridges Dellinger of Cherryville; uncle, William Bridges of Kings Mountain; special friends, Brenda Sue Snead of Theodore, Ala.; Mrs. Ruth Bagwell of Kings Mountain; nephews, Bruce Keith Bridges, Jr. of Clover, S.C.; Andrew Dale Gilliland, Jr. of Rock Hill, S.C.; nieces, Tracy Gilliland Cassaday of Mt. Pleasant, S.C.; Ashley Elizabeth Bridges of Augusta, Ga.; and five great-nieces and nephews.
Visitation: The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Harris Funeral Home.
Funeral service: 11 a.m. Saturday at Ollie Harris Memorial Chapel
