BETTY JEAN ANGEL
LAWNDALE - Betty Jean Upton Angel's soul finally broke free of her earthly flesh and moved, arriving at her eternal permanent home with Jesus on May 20, 2014.
Proverbs 31:10-31 shows the woman that Betty was: a virtuous woman, her price far above rubies. The heart of her husband did safely trust in her, doing him good and not evil all the days of her life.
She worked willingly with her hands, a strong woman, working tirelessly for all the days of her life.
She stretched her hand out to the poor and the needy. Strength and honor were her clothing. She opened her mouth with wisdom and her tongue was the law of kindness. She looked well to the ways of her household; she was never idle. Her children arise up and call her blessed. She was a woman who feared the Lord. She shall be praised.
As one of the first founding members of Friendly Chapel Baptist Church, she spent her adulthood as a quiet, humble servant of the Lord. Her family donated land to build the church and she attended when possible. Her service to Jesus was calling the sick, delivering meals, and doing anything people asked of her. She loved to garden and crochet as long as her health allowed, and gifted much of it to family and friends.
She spent her life caring for others. She, along with her deceased husband, began Morningstar Family Care Home, where she spent the last years of her life caring for and loving those as her own family.
In addition to her parents, Dave and Etta Mae Bingham Upton, she is preceded in death by her husband, William Hugh Angel.
She is survived by her two sons, David Angel and wife Angela of Lawndale and
Dale Angel and wife Trina of Lawndale; five grandchildren, Haley Hoyle and husband Chris, Hannah Angel, Taylor Angel, Harley Angel and Haven Angel; and two great-grandchildren, Lily Hoyle and Landry Hoyle.
