FALLSTON - William "Bill" Eura Blanton peacefully went home to our Lord Friday, Dec. 6, 2013, at his daughter's home in Fort Collins, Colo. He was born Dec. 15, 1922, in Gaston County, to the late Eura and Moseline Blanton.

Bill participated in Methodist Lay Witness Missions, was active with Methodist Men and was a member of Friendship Methodist Church. He served in the Army Air Force during WWII. Bill retired from J.P. Stevens.
Bill taught his children that priorities in life are God, spouse, children and family.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Jean Wright Blanton; infant brother, Cloy Blanton; and a sister, Frances Blanton Bettis.
Survivors include his children, Bill Dunaway and wife Trudy, Donna McKinney, Tina Rachels and husband Lem, Amy Jones and husband Roy, and Robin Blanton and wife Sherry; 12 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; siblings, Roland Blanton and wife Mary Sue, Dot Vance, Jeanette Ellis, Edris Melton and husband Arvin, Scott Blanton and wife Carol, and Margaret Greene and husband Barry; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation: The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Stamey Funeral Home, Fallston.
Funeral service: 2 p.m. Saturday in the Stamey Funeral Home Chapel, Fallston.
Burial: Rose Hill Memorial Park, Fallston
