CHERRYVILLE - Brenda Hall Buchanan, 68, of Cherryville, passed away Dec. 24, 2013, at her home.
She was born March 2, 1945, in Gaston County, the last of ten children born to the late Clyde Hall and Dollie Packett Hall.
Mrs. Buchanan was of Baptist faith. She graduated from Gaston College and was retired from Western Auto. Brenda loved spending time with her granddaughters and enjoyed jet-ski riding, boating, line-dancing and reading. She also enjoyed eating out with her friends.
Brenda is survived by her beloved husband of 35 years, Gerald Buchanan of the home; beloved children, Bobby Ray Queen Jr. and wife Emily of Dallas, Andrea Queen Poole and husband Rodney of Gastonia, and Gerald Buchanan II of Washington, D.C.; precious granddaughters, Marissa Lynn Messer, Georgia Olivia Queen and Megan Noel Poole; great-grandson, Kaiden Blake; special nephew, Todd Michaels; special nieces, Gail Black and Joy Williams, for always being there; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sisters, Coleen Hall, Lila Brown, Dorothy Jackson, Katherine Self, Cartha Michaels, and Velma Woody; and brothers, O.B. Hall, Elmon Hall, and Gary Hall.
Visitation: The family will receive friends from 5 to 6:45 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Celebration of life service: 7 p.m. Friday at Greene Funeral Service, 216 Archie Whitesides Road, Gastonia
Officiated by: Pastors Ray Hardee and Eric Griffin
Graveside and interment service: 1 p.m. Saturday at Gaston Memorial Park, Gastonia Officiated by: Pastor Joe Hall
