JERSEY CITY, N.J.-Mrs. Carolyn Ann McCluney Brown of Jersey City, N.J., entered into eternity to be with her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ on Friday, April 5, 2013.

Born in Shelby on Aug. 21, 1948, she was the daughter of the late Robert McCluney and the late Nettie McCluney Webber. She attended Cleveland High School and relocated to Jersey City in 1968. In 2010, she retired from Jersey City Medical Center as a surgical technologist after 40 years of service.
Ann was a person who was full of life and enjoyed giving to others. She always brought much love, joy and life to family gatherings. Her unique personality fostered such love that to know her was to love her. Shopping, cooking, and traveling were her passion. She loved to bake cakes for church events. She found so much joy in giving to others and finding that they appreciated the gifts and used them.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Robert Brown Sr.; paternal grandparents, Samuel and Pinkney McCluney; maternal grandparents, Jim and Lizzie Collins Roberts; sister, Jacqueline "Jackie" McCluney; brother, Donnie McCluney; and nephew, Joey McCluney.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and devoted daughter. She is survived by a son, Damion Brown; a daughter, Kimberly Wright (Dillon); two step-sons, Robert Brown Jr., and Gregory Brown; two grandchildren, Delilah Brown and Zavion Wright; three sisters, Mae McCluney, Wanda McCluney, and Jean Mitchell (Jerry), all of Shelby; and one brother, Timothy McCluney of Gastonia. She also leaves to mourn and share special memories a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
Graveside Service: Was held Wednesday at Bayview Cemetery in Jersey City, N.J.
