LAWNDALE - Carrie Carter Wallace, 84, of 1204 West Stagecoach Trail, died
Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2014, at Cleveland Pines Nursing Center in Shelby.
Born Feb. 28, 1929, in Cleveland County, she was a daughter of the late J.C. Carter and Ethel Weaver Carter. She was retired from Cleveland County schools and was a member of Palm Tree United Methodist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Evander
"Van" Flay Wallace; three sisters, Annie Mae Carter, Jessie Rickman and Ruth Eaker; and two brothers, Forrest Carter and Vance Carter.
Survivors include two daughters, Vanna W. Wright and husband Dennis and Cinda W. Cabaniss and husband Mike, all of Shelby; three grandchildren, Brandy Smith and husband Todd, Michael Wright and Aaron Cabaniss; a great-granddaughter, Peyton Evanna Smith; and brother, John Thomas "Tom" Carter of Charleston, S.C.
Visitation: The family will receive friends from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Stamey Funeral Home, Fallston.
Funeral service: 11 a.m. Friday at Palm Tree United Methodist Church

Burial: Rose Hill Memorial Park, Fallston
