COLUMBIA, S.C.-- Charles "Charlie/C.D." Williamson, 87, passed away at his home Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2013. Born in Polkville, he was the son of the late Var and Inez Williamson. He grew up happily at The Children's Home in Winston Salem. Charlie served his country during WWII as a Navy Seabee. He retired from Fort Jackson as Chief of Central Energy Plants. Charlie was a charter member of Covenant Presbyterian Church and was a member of the Masons and Shriners. He was an avid Gamecock fan and fisherman.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Ethel Williamson; daughter, Cathy W. Robeson; and grandson, Luke Dodenhoff.
Surviving are his daughters, Crystal D. Williamson and Connie W. Dodenhoff (David); grandchildren, Daniel Robeson (Amy), Joel Robeson, and Jenna Dodenhoff; great-grandchildren, Chip and Leigh Robeson; and sister, Francis Poole (Dave).
Visitation: The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Funeral Service: 2 p.m. Friday at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel
Burial: Greenlawn Memorial Park.
