MCDONOUGH, GA - Mrs. Christine McCoy Owens, 83, of 198 Hampton Street, went to be with her heavenly Father, Friday, March 22, 2013, at Westberry Health and Rehab. A native of Macon County, NC, she was born March 31, 1929, daughter of the late Elmer and Mae Cooper McCoy. One of her goals in life was to finish high school and in 1993 she graduated at the age of 62. She was a faithful member of Cornerstone Baptist Church for 16 years. She loved her church and her church family. She retired from Doran Textiles after 16 years of service.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by one sister, Rachel Powell; and one brother, Gene McCoy.
She is survived by one daughter, Dianne Stanley of Shelby; two sons, Larry Owens and wife Molly of McDonough, GA, and Stanley Owens and wife Teresa of Dallas, GA; one brother, PA McCoy and wife Doris of Shelby; three grandchildren, Kevin Stanley, Kim Manning, Robin Freeman; four great grandchildren, Daniel Manning, Jonathan Freeman, Matthew Freeman, Sara Manning.
Visitation: The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
Funeral Service: A funeral service will be held Sunday at 4:30 pm at Cornerstone Baptist Church.
Officiated By: Dr. Bo Wagner
Burial: Burial will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Cleveland Memorial Park.

Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family asked that memorials be made to Cornerstone Baptist Church in Mrs. Owens name, 4357 West Dixon Blvd., Shelby, NC 28152
