CASAR- Clarence D. Haynes, 89, of 111 Causby Hoyle Road, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2013, at his home.
He was born in Cleveland County on Oct. 16, 1924, to the late L.D. Haynes and Carrie Hoyle Haynes. He worked for Stamey Store in Fallston and later retired from Broughton Hospital as a supervisor. He was a member of Casar United Methodist Church where he played the organ for many years. He also loved to bake cakes and cook with his wife.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother T.B. Haynes; and sister, Minnie Lee Martin.
He is survived by his wife of forty years, Grace Hoyle Haynes; nieces, Martha Winn and husband Dale of Shelby, Kathy Elmore and husband Mike of Lawndale, Nancy Holdsclaw of Casar, and Debbie Morgan and husband Brian of Casar; and nephew, Steve Hoyle and wife Lynn of Polkville.
The family wishes to express a sincere thanks to all of his special caregivers.
Visitation: The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Stamey Funeral Home, Fallston
Funeral Service: 2 p.m. Friday at Casar United Methodist Church, Casar
Officiated By: The Revs. Bill Lovelace and Tony Matthews
Burial: Will follow in the church cemetery
