KINGS MOUNTAIN - Clyde Edward Davis, 86, of Kings Mountain, passed away Jan. 13, 2014, at Caromont Regional Medical Center, Gastonia.

He was born Feb. 9, 1927, in Cleveland County, son of the late Zeb John Davis and Ethyl Edna Floyd Davis.
Mr. Davis served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during Word War II and the N.C. National Guard for 33 years.
Mr. Davis is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Joyce Davis; son, Ray Hope (Patricia); daughters, Jean Martin, Mot Davis, Billie Hovis (Mucka), Linda Spurling, Sarah Bridges (Jeff), and Janet Brafford (Tim); sister, Christine Robbins; ten grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a grandson, Scottie Bridges; four brothers; one sister; and beloved dog, Marley.
Visitation: The family will receive friends from 2 to 2:45 p.m. Friday at the church and at other times at the home, or the home of Linda Spurling, 504 West Warren Street, Shelby.
Celebration of life service: 3 p.m. Friday at Second Baptist Church, Kings Mountain

Interment: Mountain Rest Cemetery, Kings Mountain, with military honors
