HENDERSONVILLE - David Carter Arledge, 62, of Hendersonville, entered into the open arms of our Lord and Savior Jesus the Christ on Dec. 10, 2013, surrounded by his family.
Mr. Arledge was a native of Shelby, born Aug. 9, 1951, and attended Shelby City Schools. He attended Brevard College, earned an Undergraduate Masters at Appalachian State University, and earned a Masters of Divinity from Emory University-Candler School of Theology. David worked with Henderson County Schools, AB Tech and served the last five years as a Methodist Minister at Moore's Chapel United Methodist Church.
Mr. Arledge was preceded in death by his parents, Harold, Sr., and Wanda Arledge of Shelby; grandparents, Fred and Louise Arledge of Saluda; and nephew, Eric Paul Arledge of Georgia.
Mr. Arledge is survived by wife, Faye Arledge; sons, Isaac and wife Lauren Arledge and Nathan Arledge; grandchildren, Samantha, Corinne, Alyssa, and baby boy Arledge to be; brother, Harold Arledge, Jr., and wife Sherry of Brunswick, Ga.; sister, Susan Arledge Bridges and husband Frank of Weddington; nephews, Aaron Arledge and wife Angela of Monroe, Ga., and Zack Bridges and wife Jennifer of Charlotte; niece, Katherine Bridges Maness and husband Nathan of Charlotte; sisters-in-law, Paula and Curtis Fagan of Denton, and Barbara and Charles Haid of Denton; nephew, Chris and Denise Gallimore; and niece, Della and Matt Swider.
Memorial service: 2 p.m. Friday at First United Methodist Church of Hendersonville
Graveside service: 11 a.m. Friday at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Hendersonville
Funeral home: Thos. Shepherd & Son Funeral Directors is in charge of arrangements.
