SHELBY - Dennis Wade Elliott, 60, went to be with his Lord on June 30, 2013, at his home.

A native of Cleveland County, he is the son of Pantha Sansing Brown of Shelby and the late Wade Yancey Elliott.
Dennis served in the Air Force during Vietnam, was formerly employed with UPS Freight, and was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. He loved to ride his Harley, enjoyed photography and playing golf, and had a love for his granddaughters.
He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Jerry Revels Elliott, of the home; two daughters, Melissa Herms and husband Todd of Maiden, and Megan Elliott of Charlotte; sister, Gilda Martin and husband Steve of Shelby; two granddaughters, Madison and Mia Herms.
Funeral services will be held 7 p.m. Tuesday at Bethel Baptist Church with Dr. Tim Sims officiating.
The family will receive friends from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the church, and other times at his home.
Burial will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Cleveland Memorial Park with military honors.
