GROVER-- Dexter Maurice Thompson, 44, of 325 Briarcliff Road, Grover, husband of Mrs. Carolyn Huskey Thompson, answered the Master's call on Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2013, at Cleveland Regional Medical Center, Shelby.
Son of Mrs. Burnette Thompson Hartgrove and the late Jay Lewis Hartgrove, he was born in Cleveland County. He was a member of Maple Springs Baptist Church, a graduate of Crest High School, an employee of Old Northstate Masonry, LLC, and a U.S. Army Veteran.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Kason Watkins of the home; three daughters, Ms. Dexanie Thompson, Ms. Britney Thompson and Ms. Quanita Thompson, all of the home; five brothers, Sedrick Hartgrove, Kenyard Glover, Jay Lewis Glover, Sherman Addison and Christopher Williams (Thina) of Shelby; one grandchild; and other relatives.
Funeral Service: 2 p.m. Saturday at Maple Springs Baptist Church; he will lie in state Noon Saturday at the church.
Officiating: The Rev. Robert L. Dover
Burial: Church cemetery
