SHELBY - Dianne James Blanton, 69, of 912 Lake Dr., Shelby, passed away Tuesday, November 20, 2012 at Kings Mountain Hospice House.

Dianne was born in Cleveland County on January 7, 1943 to the late David Newton James and Kathleen "Kat" Johnson James.
She worked for Cleveland Regional Medical Center for 30 plus years as a cytotechnolgist and was a member of First United Methodist Church of Lawndale where she was a Sunday school teacher and church historian.
She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Tommy Franklin Blanton; two daughters, Amy Padgett of Mt. Pleasant and Kathy Sain and husband, John, of Lawndale; sister, Anita Barrett and husband, Paul, of Shelby; and four grandchildren, Victoria Padgett, Thomas Sain, Tanner Sain and Murphy Padgett.
Visitation: Friday, from 7 to 8:30 p.m., at Stamey Funeral Home, Fallston.
Funeral Service: Sunday, 2 p.m., First United Methodist Church, Lawndale
Officiating: Rev. David Hiatt.
Interment: Rose Hill Memorial Park, Fallston.
