YORK, P.A. - Mr. Floyd Luke Walls, 70, of 200 North Duke Street, York, PA, departed this life on Thursday, Feb. 28, 2013, at his home.
He was born on June 25, 1942 in Cleveland County to the late Edward and Pauline Hopper Walls.
Floyd worked for a road construction company in the Washington, DC area most of his working career. He was a member of Walls Memorial Baptist Church where he gave his life to Christ.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Craig Walls and sisters, Sally Walls Borders and Sarah Mae Walls.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his brothers and sisters, Edward Walls, Jr. of Shelby, David L. Walls (Leanna) of Kings Mountain, Willis C. Walls (friend, Teresa) of York P.A., Helen Earley (Joe Louis) and Florine Mooring (Crumel) both of Charlotte; five children; three grandchildren; a very special friend, Cheryl Christy and family of York P.A. and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Funeral service: Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Walls Memorial Baptist Church
Officiating: Rev. Nathanial Craig
Burial: Church cemetery.
Visitation: The family will receive friends from noon until 1 p.m. on Wednesday and at other times at the home of Edward Walls, Jr. 1648 Friendship Rd. in Shelby.
