KINGS MOUNTAIN-George Junior Murray, 88, resident of 314 Edel Street, Kings Mountain, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Jan. 30, 2013, at his home.
He was born in Cleveland County to the late Gaston Murray and Maggie Greene Murray. He was also preceded in death by his loving wife of 53 years, Betty Hamrick Murray; brothers, Avero Murray, Monroe Murray, Horace Murray, and Willard Murray; and sisters, Viola Murray and Lottie Murray.
Mr. Murray was a member of Midview Baptist Church where he served as former deacon and teacher of the men's Sunday school class for 54 years. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who enjoyed sharing his faith with his family.
He was a former employee of Margrace Mills and retired from K Mills in Kings Mountain.
He is survived by his daughters, Kathy Jenkins and husband Tony of Blacksburg, S.C., Darlene James and husband David of Kings Mountain, and Annette Forbes and husband Darrell of Grover; sons, Doug Murray and wife Melody, Russell Murray and wife Terri, and Gene Murray and wife Janie, all of Kings Mountain; brother, Robert Murray; sisters, Darcus, Cleo, Florence, and Zaciena; 13 grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.
Visitation: The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Saturday prior to the service in the sanctuary of Midview Baptist Church, and other times at the home, 314 Edel Street, Kings Mountain.
Funeral Service: 3 p.m. Saturday at Midview Baptist Church
