KINGS MOUNTAIN - Hazel Ashcraft Jackson, 99, resident of Kings Mountain and loving wife of the late Howard B. Jackson, passed away Nov. 20, 2013, at Caromont Health in Gastonia.

She was born in Mecklenburg County, daughter of the late Simeon Eugene Ashcraft and Estelle Biggers Ashcraft. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Peggy White.
She graduated from Central High School, Charlotte, and Queens College, majoring in textile design. She moved to Kings Mountain to work as a textile designer for Neisler Mills, living over Mauney Memorial Library in the teachers' boarding house. After marrying Howard, she lived in Kings Mountain and New York City, enjoying an active social life, playing bridge and traveling throughout the world. Hazel and Howard were lifelong members of First Presbyterian Church, Kings Mountain. Mrs. Jackson was a member of the former Kings Mountain Garden Club.
She is survived by her nephew Harvey W. White, Jr. and wife Carol, and his sons, Harvey W. White, III and Alexander L. White, and their wives and children.
Visitation: The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Harris Funeral Home.
Funeral service: 3 p.m. Sunday at Ollie Harris Memorial Chapel, Kings Mountain
