SHELBY - Irene Granger, 80, resident of Shelby, went to be with the Lord Feb. 6, 2013, at Wendover Hospice in Shelby.

She was born in Cherokee County, SC, daughter of the late Lonnie and Grace Bell Henderson. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by nine brothers. She was a homemaker, a member of BethelBaptistChurch in Shelby, enjoyed shopping and was an excellent cook.
Irene enjoyed her family and friends and was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother.
Survivors include her husband of 27 years, Herb Granger, Shelby; a son, Pete Henderson, Kings Mountain; a step-son; three step-daughters; sisters; Ruby Dixon, Clover, SC; Florence Moss, Gastonia; granddaughter; Ashley Henderson, Kings Mountain; seven step-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren.
Visitation: The family will receive friends from 11 a.m.- noon Friday in the church sanctuary and other times at the home
Funeral Service: Noon on Friday at BethelBaptistChurch
