MOORESBORO - Irma Jeanette Beason Fox went home to the Lord on Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2014, at Hospice at Wendover. Born Oct. 18, 1921, she was youngest daughter of Charlie and Mertie McSwain Beason.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Jim Fox; brothers Max and Charles Reid Beason; sisters Lucille Humphries, Johnnie Lee Callahan, and Mary Willie Bridges; and special nephews and nieces Dan Beason, Lynn Beason, "Boo Boo" Bridges, Bobby Goode, Polly English, and Rahama Kirby.
She leaves to cherish fond memories, her daughter Judy Fox Greene; son-in- law Dave of Mooresboro; granddaughter Stephanie Randall (Joey); and great-grandson Nick of Shelby.
Jeanette was a member of Trinity Baptist Church, Mooresboro, where she served in the nursery for over 30 years. She was a long time employee of Cleveland Sandwich Company, beginning employment there at age 19. She took several years off to be a mother, and later to care for her sick husband, only to return to Cleveland Sandwich and work there until the company closed in 1996.
She was a caregiver and nurturer, especially to children. Jeanette and her sister Mary Willie cared for numerous children and the two were affectionately called Granny and Maw-Maw.
After her husband passed in 1980, Jeanette spent much of her time with her sister Mary Willie and was ingrained in her family. Members of this family are Glenn, Gene (Lunette), Straw (Bobbie), Lou Ann, Bobby, Brandy (Travis), Melaina, Lane, Clint, Chase, Kayleigh, Zack, Jennifer (Crash), Alyssa, Andrew, Adam, Carla, Mackenzie, and Kendall. Other extended family members are Nell and Martha Fox, L.C. Jones, and many dear nieces and nephews.
Heartfelt thanks to the staffs of Shelby Manor, Carillon Assisted Living, and Wendover Hospice for providing wonderful care to Jeanette over the past four years.
