SHELBY-Mrs. Jeanette Watkins Jones, 74, of 2466 Old Gaffney Road, passed away at home, surrounded by her loving family, on Sunday, Jan. 20, 2013.

A native of Cleveland County, she was the daughter of the late Joe and Hester Mauney Watkins.
She was a member of First Wesleyan Church of Shelby, and retired from Doran Mill after 35 years of service. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Hub Jones; sister, Margaret Champion; and brother, Jerry Watkins.
She is survived by her two sons, Harry Jones, Richard Jones and wife Anitra, all of Shelby; two daughters, Kathy Herron and husband Donnie, and Terri McCraw and husband Ronald, all of Shelby; two brothers, Tommy and Ted Watkins, both of Shelby; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation: The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home, and other times at her home.
Funeral Service: 1 p.m. Wednesday at First Wesleyan Church of Shelby
