GAFFNEY, SC - Hazel LaRue Simmons McCraw, 89, of 129 Humphries Circle, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, Sept. 9, 2018 at her residence.

Born in Shelby, NC, she was the widow of the late Henry David McCraw and daughter of the late Howard Robert Simmons and Naomi Self Simmons. She retired from Oxford Industries and was a member of Prospect Baptist Church.

Surviving are a son, Dennis McCraw and wife, Doris of Gaffney; three daughters, Reba Allison and husband, Gene of Gaffney, Alinda Gunter and husband, Sonny of Cowpens and Melba Horton and husband, Larry of Gaffney; a special brother-in-law, Clarence "Pinkey" McCraw; grandchildren, Johnny Pinkard and wife, Naomi, Tammy Cobb and husband, Lloyd, Howie Lowe, Charles Allison and life partner Jorge Flores, Diane Gray and husband, James, Dennis Holcomb and wife, Misty, Richard Holcomb and wife, Holly, Angie Green and husband, Tavis, Amie Martin and husband, Nathan, Melynda Gunter and Alta Peeler and husband, Danny; 31 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Joe Dean Simmons and Howard Fay Simmons and a great-granddaughter, Elysia Gray.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Tuesday, September 11, 2018 at Blakely Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 4:00 PM on Wednesday, September 12, 2018 in the Prospect Baptist Church Cemetery in Mooresboro, NC with Rev. Travis Blackwell officiating.
