BLACKSBURG, S.C. - Mr. Lawrence Lee Allen, 79, of 7983 N. Mountain St., went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 22, 2008, at home.
Born in Cleveland County, he was the son of the late Baxter Lee Allen and Pearl Shuford Allen and husband of Sara Huskey Allen. Mr. Allen was a veteran of the U. S. Army and was retired from the textile industry. He was a Mason with Buffalo Lodge 202. Mr. Allen was also a member of the VFW and was a volunteer with the Blacksburg Fire Department for 50 years. He was a member of Mount Paran Baptist Church.
A brother, Joe Allen preceded him in death.
In addition to his wife, he is also survived by a son, Dana Allen and wife, Mary Pat, of Blacksburg; two brothers, Jack Allen and wife, Lucille, of Blacksburg and Bob Allen and wife, Shirley, of McConnells, S.C.; and two grandchildren, David Allen and Heather Allen.
The family will be at the residence.
Funeral: Saturday, May 24 at 1 p.m. at Blakely Funeral Home Chapel
Visitation: The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Burial: Frederick Memorial Gardens
