KINGS MOUNTAIN- Kenneth Lewis Dellinger, 79, resident of Kings Mountain, died Sept. 28, 2013, at Kings Mountain Hospice House.

He was born in Gaston County to the late William Kenneth Dellinger and Martha Louise Wilkinson Dellinger. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Diana Long Dellinger.
Mr. Dellinger was the owner of Dellinger's Jewel Shop, which was established by his family more than 100 years ago. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Kings Mountain, an active community leader, and loving father and granddaddy who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was the first graduating Battalion Commander of Camden Military Academy. He also served in the United States Army.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Kings Mountain Hospice House.
He is survived by his son, Lew Dellinger Jr. and wife Linda of Kings Mountain; daughter, Holly D. Robinson and husband Greg of Kings Mountain; four grandchildren, Mason Dellinger, Lauren Dellinger, Morgan Robinson and Miles Robinson; and his girlfriend, Gail Jenkins of Cherryville.
Visitation: The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. Tuesday, prior to the service in the Stained Glass Room at First Baptist Church, and at other times at the home of the son, Lew Dellinger, 801 Hillside Drive, Kings Mountain.
Memorial Service: 5 p.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church
Burial: Dr. John Sloan
